Why can't I save changes to my gradebook?
If you are using a trial version of The Gradebook Program and it has expired, please read this The trial has expired, how can I save my gradebook? FAQ first.
With Windows Vista the most likely reason for not being able to save a gradebook, is that the gradebook is in a folder that is restricted by the enhanced Vista security. In this case the message below will appear.
For example, The Gradebook Program includes a file sample.mk that is in the program folder. If you try to open it directly from there, Vista will not allow you to save any changes.
- Instead, the first time you open a gradebook please use the Open command in the File menu, TGP then defaults to a copy of the sample.mk file that is in your Documents folder which can be saved.
If you have a problem saving that is unrelated to Vista, then using the Save as command in the File menu can allow you to choose a different location for the file.
